Are you tired of walking the path you’ve been trudging along for years? Whether you’re a bare-foot girl feeling stuck in a high-heeled world, or a country girl filled with big-city dreams, remember Dr. Suess’s famous quote – “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself, any direction you choose.”
Daily, a multitude of inspirational quotes cross our Facebook and Twitter feeds. It’s easy to read them and appreciate the sentiment but, how often do we implement them?
The next time you’re feeling like the grass is greener, or the lights are brighter, on others’ paths, pause when one of those wise quotes flows in front of you. Take to heart what they’re saying and use it as a call to action. By allowing the words to help you when you’re feeling stuck in proverbial mud, you’ll be one step closer to paving a smoother path.
Bob Marley’s famous line – “Love the life you live. Live the life you love.” – is the perfect example. If you’re not happy with the life you’re living, make changes to move towards a life you’ll love.
You can further that by taking into account my favorite saying – Your attitude + your choices = your life. That’s why I recommend a rose-colored-glasses approach. Not because you’re fooling yourself into thinking a situation is better than it is, because the situation is only as bad as you’re attitude toward it is.
Anyway you look at it, paving a new path is simple. Why? Because you’re never really stuck. You always have a choice. It’s just a matter of which step you decide to take.
Envision your beautiful, bright new path, and start walking it! Happy trailblazing!
